Year 12
Expectations:
First and foremost it is our hope that all students enjoy their courses. There can be a significant step up between year 11 and year 12 and there are several things we can do to ensure that this transition is as smooth as possible:
- Attend all lessons. If the student is ill, please contact the base school to let them know. Click here for absence lines.
- Complete enrolment assignments for the first lesson of each subject Ask for help if you are stuck.
- Talk to your teachers and let them know what you are enjoying and what you are finding hard.
- Complete all independent work. Students will be expected to complete as much ‘home learning’ as they have hours for their subject e.g. 10 hours of lessons, 10 hours of independent work. Students can use non contact periods for this.
- Join at least one enrichment activity, see the timetable.
Course Changes:
Please note that course changes are only available in the Induction period of Year 12.
We know that students can sometimes select the wrong courses for them, especially if they have never studied them before, and so there is a window when students can request a course move. We have been very successful in our recruitment this year and so the ability to move courses will be dependent on students meeting the exact entry requirements of the course and class size. If students request a move they need to complete a course change form. Please speak to your Head of Year or Tutor for more information.
